    Thank God for this book! I have tried it all, it seems. This book is FINALLY the one! Teaching writing to one of my children has been like trying to teach a fish to do tricks–it has been the bane of my homeschooling career thus far. Every other book we’ve tried has been miserable, with the child just not able to “get” it.     Instructor text is very helpful While you probably could teach this course without the Instructor text, we find it very helpful. My daughter is on her second year with the Writing With Skill (WWS) sequence, and she’s worked out a rhythm where she works on this mostly independently. She uses the Student Text for her daily work (she does not write in the book, so it’s non-consumable for us), and then after she’s completed the daily work, she takes the Instructor Text and uses the rubrics to self-check.
