Dystopian Alternate History: An ambitious feat of engineering and a continent in crisis
For fans of Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle and Stephen King’s 11/22/63, comes an epic saga by YouTubers Cody Franklin (Alternate History Hub) and Joseph Pisenti (Real Life Lore).
In an alternate timeline, history has forgotten how the Nazis united Europe in a single peaceful cause. A project to build the largest dams ever imagined at each end of the Mediterranean Sea, cutting it off from the Atlantic Ocean. The sea was to evaporate, revealing new land once under water. New land could be settled. Fertile land. Living space for a crowded continent. It was to be called Atlantropa. All of Europe came together and signed a treaty to realize this new world, it was called ‘The Atlantropa Articles’.
Nazism Survives in A New Europe: For the sake of the dam’s to be constructed, the Nazis never invade their neighbors. There never is a Second World War. Instead, by bringing endless energy through hydro-electricity and employing millions to build the dams, fascism only cements itself as a mainstream ideology. Hitler is seen as a modern Napoleon, one of the greats for his time. Nazism never disappears.
The Reich Remains Eternal: Two millennia later, that Reich did not collapse. It has spread it’s reaches across the Europe. Over generations Aryans have become a race of their own, out populating their neighbors. Europe becomes united under the banner of the swastika. All thanks to the Atlantropa dams.
The Sea Is Gone: That plan of a fertile lush land was never realized. Instead the sea left behind a salty barren world. Now the Mediterranean Sea is a desert basin known only as the Kiln. Southern Europe has been abandoned. The only remnants of civilization left down south are giant colonies in the sand. Outpost cities called Eagle Nests. Mechanical treads allow reutilized ships to traverse the sandy dunes of the Kiln, transporting cargo to keep the Nests alive.
The Fuhrer’s Legacy: Adolf Hitler has taken a mythical status in this new world. Portrayed to the future Aryans as the savior of Europe who brought it into a time of peace and prosperity. History of the “Eternal Fuhrer’s” time has been lost to the sand, replaced by myth. This a cruel, unforgiving Europe. This is where Ansel’s story begins.
The Atlantropa Articles is an astounding science fiction, alternate history tale that will thrill and transport readers with its detailed world and startling intimacy.
